Secret Files from the Working Men’s College

Gallery installation images show photographic works and reading space.

The exhibition formed an early stage in an ongoing investigation into archives, memory and constructed narrative within photographic practice.

The project assembled photographs alongside archival documents, institutional ephemera and constructed texts. Together these materials blur the distinction between archive and fiction, suggesting that institutional histories are often shaped through fragments, interpretation and narrative reconstruction.

Gallery Installation

Gallery installation showing photographic works and reading space

The exhibition formed an early stage in an ongoing investigation into archives, memory and constructed narrative within photographic practice. Photographic works were presented alongside archival documents, institutional ephemera and constructed texts. Together these materials blur the distinction between archive and fiction, suggesting that institutional histories are often assembled through fragments, interpretation and narrative reconstruction.

The project anticipates later investigations into memory, objects and narrative that continue through the research project Landscapes of the Interior.
